How does a physical domain ownership certificate work?

This is an additional service for domains registered with us. After activating the additional service, you can have a certificate issued, which will be printed on security paper and will contain the signature of the owner of WEDOS Internet a.s. After ordering, we will deliver the certificate to the address of your choice.

How long will it take for the certificate to arrive at my home?

Within one month of ordering the certificate, we will prepare it, print it, and send it to your chosen address as a Parcel to Hand (Czech Post).

What is the validity period of the certificate?

The physical certificate confirms the status of the domain in the registry as of the current date and time. This information is permanent. Even if someone else owns the domain in 10 years, the certificate confirms that you were the owner at the time it was generated.

For which domains can you purchase a certificate of ownership?

Currently, this applies to all domains we offer, and you can manage them in the customer administration section under Domains.

Is it possible to obtain a domain ownership certificate for a subdomain?

We do not record the owner of subdomains and have no way of verifying them. Our certificate system works with WHOIS, where subdomains are not recorded.
Given the conditions of the registry and how domains work, this would be very complicated.

For which authority can I use the certificate?

The physical domain ownership certificate confirms the following statuses as of the date and time of generation:

Holder's address
Domain registration date
Domain expiration date
Registrar
Certificate issue date

The certificate can be used for any authority that requires any of this domain information from you.
