Operating systems

When ordering a virtual server, it is possible to choose one of the pre-installed Linux-based operating systems.
This is always a basic installation with no additional software. The customer can access the server with full rights via SSH as root user.
The last option is to order a virtual server without an operating system. After setting up the server, the customer connects a CD/DVD of his choice in the customer administration, boots from the CD/DVD and installs any system he wishes. If the customer installs an operating system that requires a license, the customer is obliged to have such a license and to present it upon request.

What is a VPS SSD?

A VPS SSD is a server running on virtualized hardware. The entire server is yours, the operating system of your choice is installed on it and you have full admin rights. You can install and run any software on it. The server can be reinstalled and the operating system can be changed at any time.

VPS SSD is designed for the most demanding customers who are no longer satisfied with our web hosting offer and at the same time have a need for special settings (which cannot be offered on a shared web hosting), installation of certain add-ons (which we do not install on the web hosting), or higher performance and at the same time do not want to pay higher monthly amounts for a dedicated (dedicated physical machine for one customer) server. A virtual machine is created on a very powerful server, i.e. the performance of a very powerful (and at the same time expensive) rack-mounted and branded server is divided into smaller parts and each customer gets a proportional part of the whole performance for a proportional price.

We make sure that none of our servers are overloaded, and therefore the physical resources of the servers are oversized so that there is no sharing or limiting them between individual customers. One of our main advantages, besides the completely unbeatable price, is that the DDR3 RAM is dedicated, i.e. guaranteed.

What is a snapshot?

A snapshot is (in the context of virtualization) the state of a virtual server at a particular point in time. It includes the state of disk devices and RAM. Therefore, when the VPS is restored from a snapshot, the server will be in the exact state it was in when the snapshot was created.

So how many snapshots you pay for is the maximum number you can have. You can create/delete/restore snapshots at your discretion. It is possible to order 1-10 snapshots.

What is KVM

KVM (Keyboard-Video-Mouse) is the generic name for the technology for remote access to a server's monitor, keyboard and mouse. This access is not dependent on the operating system, so it works even if the operating system on the VPS has crashed, it can also boot the system from CD/DVD, control the BIOS, etc.
