We have updated the PHP versions

New versions of PHP (8.4.11,8.3.24,8.2.29, and8.1.33) are now available on our web hosting services. The new versions bring further performance optimizations, more efficient memory management, and extend the language with new features and functions. This allows modern web applications to run faster, more stably, and with support for the latest developer standards.

Before switching, we recommend checking the compatibility of all plugins, extensions, and content management systems used to ensure smooth operation of the website.

More privacy and security for gTLD domain owners

On August 21, 2025, new ICANN rules for handling personal data in generic domains (gTLDs), such as .com, .net, or .org, came into effect. The main change is the option to hide personal data in the WHOIS database and the introduction of an anonymized email contact through which interested parties can contact you without you having to disclose your real address. The good news is that we already offered this protection at VEDOS, so most owners of our gTLD domains do not need to take any action. CUSTOMER SUPPORT TIP: DNSSEC – protecting your domain from spoofing

DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) adds digital signatures to DNS records and verifies that responses from DNS servers are authentic and have not been altered en route. Without DNSSEC, an attacker can redirect visitors to your domain to a fake website. With DNSSEC, you protect your visitors, your brand, and your data.

How to set it up with VEDOS?

• Log in to customer administration.
• Open your domain details.
• In the Domain Diagnostics tab, verify that DNSSEC is enabled.
• If not, enable the feature in the DNSSEC Settings tab, and the keys will be generated and saved automatically.

If you do not want us to automatically set up DNSSEC on CZ and EU domains (enabled by default), you can disable it by following the instructions here.
