After creating a web host, you can migrate the site yourself using the migration script, click on the target web host in the administration and select Migration from competitor - web or Migration from competitor - emails from the left menu.

If you would like to migrate with our assistance, please contact support with an authorised enquiry. Our specialist will send you an invoice and after payment will perform the migration.

If the migration is successful, you can redirect the domain after checking the website and emails (e.g. by changing DNS records or transferring the domain to us).

In case the migration fails or you encounter a problem, we recommend contacting our technical support.

After checking and final DNS change, the website will be displayed from us.

How does the "Up to 2 years free" promotion work when switching from a competitor?

If you switch to us from another provider before the end of your subscription period, we'll add the remainder of your subscription free of charge to our annual term, up to a maximum of 2 years.

What types of services can I migrate to VEDOS?

You can migrate almost any website, where you can share us the access data directly to the data.
We commonly migrate websites with WordPress content management system. The migration of e-mails or assistance with domain re-registration is not a problem either.
Among the services whose successful migration we cannot guarantee you are:
websites created in online web editors such as WIX, Webnode, ...
using an unusual content management system or our own complex solution;
incompatible with currently supported versions of PHP and SQL databases on our servers.

How does migration work?

Services are available from your original provider for the duration of the migration.
Once the checks are complete, we will point the domain to the new website or email, and within 1 hour the services will be up and running with us. You can then shut down services with your original provider.

How much does assisted migration cost?

The automatic migration is free of charge and is linked to the completion and payment of the web hosting service. You must also complete and pay for this order before the competitor's migration bonus is recognized (the bonus period applies after the 1st year of service has been paid).
If you are also migrating a domain to us from a competitor, expect to be asked to pay a re-registration fee, which will also renew the domain. The re-registration fee applies to all domains except for CZ, which you do not renew when you re-register.
If you need our assistance, you will need to pay an invoice sent by our specialist before we start the migration.

What happens to the data with the original provider?

The data at the original provider is not affected by the migration.
Until you approve the migrated website and point the DNS to it (manually, automatically or with our help), the website and emails will work at the original provider.

What if migration fails?

If the migration fails for any reason, or if we are unable to get the site 100% up and running, you can cancel the service and the migration.
We will refund your money, the services will remain in operation with the original provider.

Which web hosting plan is suitable for my needs?

In general, it is not possible to clearly determine which web hosting is the most suitable. When choosing a plan, it is important to consider the parameters of each hosting to match the needs of your project. A lower tariff can affect the performance of a website, which depends on many factors - for example, updates (newer versions of content management systems often require higher performance) or traffic. However, with our hosting services, you have the option to switch from a lower to a higher plan at any time, and vice versa.

Will the domain move with the migration?

No, this is not a domain re-registration from another provider. Transferring web hosting means that your domain stays with the current registrar, only the web hosting provider changes. The change occurs by changing the DNS. However, you can also re-register your domain to VEDOS here.

Does the migration include a final DNS change?

No, changing DNS is not part of the web hosting migration. We don't have and don't want to have access to the administration of your original provider, so the DNS change must be done separately.
If your domain is registered with VEDOS, we can make the DNS change for you. Just notify a technician during the migration process.

What information will you need from me to migrate?

To transfer web hosting we need to know:
