Basic concepts
ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is a non-profit organization responsible for the DNS name space, distribution of large blocks of IP addresses, administration of autonomous system numbers, etc. ICANN delegates authority for the administration of individual TLDs to other entities (registries).
Accreditation meansdetermining and setting minimum requirements for the operation, administration, and registration of domain names for persons or entities that meet these requirements (standards).
The registrar isauthorized to manage its domains in the central registry. It enables their registration and management by end customers (domain owners). One of the registrars is WEDOS Internet, a.s.
The registry isthe main database of domain names, their holders, and other data. These registries are entrusted with the administration of specific TLDs (extensions). An example is CentralNic for domains ending in ONLINE, WEBSITE, and others.
TLD(Top Level Domain) is the top-level domain listed at the end of a domain name. For example, com. It is divided into ccTLD (Country code TLD), which are regional domains (e.g., CZ), or gTLD (generic TLD), which are not associated with a specific country (com, net, org, info, biz, and others).
RDAP (formerly WHOIS) is a service that provides information about domains, their contacts, nameservers, and other data associated with the domain.
Personal datais data that identifies individuals or entities.
A registered domain nameis a domain name, a unique name for computers and servers on the Internet, which hides their numerical value (IP address) through which computers communicate. A domain is a name that is easier for people to remember than a numerical designation. A domain can have multiple levels, which are separated by dots, e.g., the third-level domain kb.wedos.com.
The domain owneris the holder of the domain name.
1. Contracting Parties
1.1. The rules and conditions for domain name registration (hereinafter referred to asthe "gTLD Conditions") are concluded between the domain name applicant, i.e. a natural person or entity (hereinafter referred to asthe "Customer") applying for domain name registration, and the registrar WEDOS Internet a.s., Masarykova 1230, 373 41, Hluboká nad Vltavou, Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to asthe 'Operator').
1.2. The Operator is a domain name registration company accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, known as ICANN. We hereby declare that we are acting within the framework of the agreement concluded between ICANN and the Operator (WEDOS Internet a.s., Masarykova 1230, 373 41, Hluboká nad Vltavou, Czech Republic). Therefore, you should be aware that the gTLD Terms and Conditions may change over time to comply with the agreement concluded with ICANN or any amendment to ICANN's policies that we are required to comply with.
The contractually binding rules and conditions include:
- Registrar Accreditation Agreement –www.icann.org/en/about/agreements/registrars
- Compliance with principles:www.icann.org/en/resources/registrars/consensus-policies
- All additional rules:www.icann.org
1.3. By checking"I agree to the domain name registration terms and conditions"in the domain name registration order form on the Operator's website, you indicate your agreement to these gTLD Terms and Conditions and all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures established by ICANN.
1.4. In the event of any conflict between the gTLD Terms, ICANN Terms, or Registry Terms (e.g., CentralNic, Verisign), the order of priority shall be as follows: (1) ICANN Terms; (2) Registry Terms; (3) gTLD Terms.
2. Collection and processing of personal data
2.1. If the Customer registers and manages domains on behalf of a third party (Domain Owner), they are obliged to obtain the consent of that person to these Terms and Conditions. - if the Domain Owner is an entrepreneur or legal entity – the name of the company and complete details of the person authorized to act on behalf of this entity
- IP addresses of the primary and secondary name servers for the domain name

2.4. As an accredited registrar, the Operator is bound by its agreement with ICANN, its rules, and policies. Selected registration data is therefore provided to third parties such as domain registries, data escrow providers, and ICANN, and may be made public through the RDAP public service.
Current ICANN rules allow the following to be published with the consent of the domain owner:
- Company name (if applicable)

To enable legitimate communication, the Operator provides a public proxy contact (e.g., a web form or anonymized email address) in accordance with ICANN policy. Messages sent through this contact are automatically forwarded to the actual email address of the Domain Owner. The Operator is not responsible for the content of these messages, does not check or filter them, and reserves the right to restrict this service in case of abuse.
2.6. By accepting these gTLD Terms, the Customer agrees and confirms that they have been transparently informed about the collection and storage of personal data.
