Information on data backup for Webhosting, Mailhosting and virtual servers

Before any major intervention in your website or mailboxes (deletion, updates) we strongly recommend to make your own backup of data in case you accidentally delete or damage an important part of the system. Follow the instructions for backing up your website and emails.

Basic information about backups

With the exception of Webhosting NoLimit Extra, we back up the data of selected hosting services for internal use. These backups are not accessible to customers and are not primarily intended for routine restoration of customer accidentally deleted or corrupted data. They are primarily for us in case a server or disk array crashes and we are forced to restore the data.

According to the general terms and conditions, the Customer is obliged to regularly back up the content of its services outside the Webhosting premises. For this purpose, we offer a free Disk service for Webhosting and VPS services. Instructions for setting it up can be found in the knowledge base.

In addition to the terms and conditions specified for each service(Webhosting Extra, other Webhosting and server hosting, email), the following rules apply to the provision of backups by us:

  • Communication regarding backup recovery must always be authorized. The customer or user authorized for the service must request a data restore via the contact form from the account where the service is held.
  • As part of the communication, the technician will provide the dates and times of backups available at that time. We do not guarantee their availability at the time of confirmation of the selection of a particular backup, especially if a new backup cycle has been run at the time of the communication delay.
  • The requested data (files, databases) are restored via FTP, either to a separate folder or by overwriting the existing data. Import of databases is done manually by the customer according to the instructions in the knowledge base.
  • The advance payment cannot be claimed.

Sample application for advance payment

When requesting an internal backup of the website or emails, please provide the following information:

  • The name (domain) of the service, for example my-website.tld
  • What specifically do you need to restore (the entire site, a specific database or email box, ...)
  • The most accurate date and time when the data or emails were corrupted or deleted
  • Restore method (overwriting the current data or restoring to a separate folder on FTP) - applies only to the website.
  • Agreement with the renewal price - does not apply to the Webhosting Extra service under the free renewal conditions.

NoLimit Extra Web Hosting Backup

For the higher NoLimit Extra web hosting plan, we perform daily backups of the website content and all its databases. Backups are done every night, 5 days backups are available. Restoration from this daily backup is free of charge under the following conditions:

  • At least 8 days have elapsed since the Extra plan was purchased/activated.
  • At least 30 days have passed since the last free advance.

Renewal is carried out by a technician on the basis of an authorised request via the contact form.

Backup Web Hosting and Server Hosting

For the basic NoLimit web hosting tariff (without the Extra service), LowCost tariff and virtual servers, we perform weekly backups, i.e. we make a copy of the data on the backup disk array once a week. We restore from the last available backup, which can be 0 to 7 days old. The date and time of the last backup of the specific data will be communicated by the technician within the communication with the customer.

These backups are primarily for internal use. Data restoration by us at the customer's request is charged at a one-time amount 500 CZK20,83 €100 Zł20,83 $ (605 CZK incl. VAT25,20 € incl. VAT121Zł incl. VAT25,20 $ incl. VAT). After the data recovery we will send an invoice to the billing e-mail of the service with a due date of 7 days.

The following applies to the backup of individual services:

  • In the case of Webhosting, we copy the content of the website and/or database to the Webhosting, where the customer can access it via FTP.
  • With virtual servers, we do not back up individual files, but the entire virtual disk image. When restoring, this backup overwrites the current contents of the disk.
  • For dedicated servers and WMS we do not perform any backups.

Email backup

Emails are backed up for all Webhosting, Mailhosting, WebSite and WMS service plans. The frequency of backups is at least 1x per week, and we provide backups up to 1 week old. The following rules apply to the restoration of email backups:

  • The price for restoring the contents of one e-mail box is 500 CZK20,83 €100 Zł20,83 $ (605 Kč incl. VAT25,20 € incl. VAT121Zł incl. VAT25,20$ incl. VAT) except for the mailboxes of the Webhosting NoLimit Extra service, which we renew for free under the same conditions as data.
  • We always refresh the entire contents of the mailbox, not individual emails. The customer is obliged to provide sufficient space to perform the recovery.
